Appreciations Received:
I am choosing only a very few out of hundreds and thousands of so...

Philip Pullman -
"Several cuts above most thrillers... intelligent, complex, with a griping plot and deeply intriguing characters"

Val McDermid -
"Blomkvist and Salander are vivid and complex creations who lodge in the hearts and minds of readers... Larsson's books sparkle with wit and playfulness"

Joan Smith,  Sunday Times -
"A publishing sensation, an accomplished crime writer who seemingly came from nowhere... Crime fiction has seldom needed to salute and mourn such a stellar talent as Larsson's in the same breath... A gripping crime debut that lives up to the hype"

Peter Guttridge, Observer -
"A striking novel, full of passion, an evocative sense of place and subtle insights into venal, corrupt minds"

Sydney Morning Herald -
"Swedish crime fiction, like the country itself, has both class and a social conscience. It was only a matter of time before it produced its own War and Peace... The plotting and pacing are masterful. No wonder Europe has gone wild over Blomkvist and his riveting sidekick."

Glimpse:
The whole story revolves around three main characters, viz. Mikael Blomkvist, Lisbeth Salander and Henrik Vanger. There is one more character who plays a significantly distinctive role is Harriet Vanger.

Lisbeth Salander, a young girl who used to work as a security specialist. Salander is a genius hacker and can play with any computer on earth. She looks more like a small teen girl and sometime gets all decked up like a punk girl. She just hates to live under any sort of restrictions imposed upon her and has a past history of being admitted to rehabilitation center because of her such rebel nature.

Mikael Blomkvist is an excellent journalist who somehow gets his back burnt by libeling and defaming the financier Hans-Erik Wennerstrom. When his career is completely troubled with all these things, he gets an offer from Henrik Vanger to solve the mystery of his niece Harriet Vanger. He was although a bit hesitant to take up the case at first, but after that he gets involved in the case and ultimately goes beyond anyone's imagination and solves the mystery. Lisbeth Salander helps him in this case.
